Common mechanical failures of flotation machine and solutions

The flotation machine is the main sorting equipment in the flotation plant. In this paper, we summarize the common mechanical failures of the mechanical flotation machine, analyze the reasons and give the corresponding solutions.

The common mechanical failures of mechanical flotation machines include four kinds, stirring mechanism failure, scraper mechanism failure, tank failure, and gate failure.

1. Failure of the stirring mechanism of the flotation machine

As the core component of the flotation machine, the stirring mechanism determines whether the flotation machine can function normally. After replacing some components, the flotation machine may experience that the stirring mechanism is inflexible or even unable to operate normally, or the motor may appear during operation. If the bearing temperature is too high, abnormal vibration, and noise are generated, if it is not dealt with in time, it may cause the motor to burn and the bearing to be damaged.

Troubleshooting and troubleshooting:

First of all, when the flotation machine is installed for the first time, the foreign matter in the tank should be removed first, and the large pulley should be turned to confirm whether it rotates flexibly and whether the belt is properly tight. Start the inspection to confirm that the belt is running in the correct direction (the correct direction is clockwise when looking down). Make sure that the belt is free of scratches, and then officially start.

If the above problems occur during the operation of the flotation machine, the belt should be removed, and the stirring parts should be disconnected for separate investigation. The routine inspection part is the motor, the verticality of the motor shaft should be checked, the structure between the motor and the plate, the plate and the bracket is in good condition, the motor can be tested separately for wiring, and the small pulley can be visually checked to see if the operation is stable. Influenced by factors such as lubrication, if necessary, please ask professional motor maintenance personnel to carry out maintenance.

2. Failure of the scraper mechanism of the flotation machine

The scraper of the flotation machine is located above the tank body of the flotation machine, which is an important functional part of the mechanical flotation machine and is used to scrape foam products. In the process of installation and use, the common faults of the scraper mechanism include inflexible rotation of the scraper mechanism shaft, broken shaft, high motor temperature, motor deceleration, oil leakage of the reducer and so on.

Troubleshooting and troubleshooting:

The inspection of the scraper mechanism of the flotation machine is mainly divided into two parts, one part is the inspection of the scraper shaft, and the other part is the inspection of the scraper reducer.

(1) Scraper shaft inspection

Before installation, check whether the scraper mechanism bearings, couplings and other parts are damaged, especially whether the scraper shaft is bent or deformed. When the flotation machine leaves the factory, the head shaft of the scraper mechanism and the reducer are often installed together. When installing on site, the head shaft and the reducer mesher should be disassembled first, reconnected to the scraper shaft of each slot, and the scraper should be checked. Whether the shaft can rotate flexibly. If the rotation is not flexible, you can add an adjustment pad between the scraper bearing seat and the groove body, and finally connect the head shaft and the reducer to ensure that the error between the center height of the head shaft and the center height of the reducer is less than 0.5mm. If the scraper shaft is broken, do not continue to use it after welding, which will easily cause damage to other components. During routine maintenance, it is necessary to maintain the integrity of the key connecting parts of the flotation machine, including couplings, keys, keyways, bearings, bearing seats, etc., and replace damaged parts in time.

(2) Inspection of scraper reducer

The oil leakage of the reducer mainly occurs in the output shaft of the reducer, the part where the gear reducer is connected to the motor, usually due to overload or the reducer does not operate for a long time, resulting in seal failure. In order to prevent the reducer from continuing to leak oil, the two-part oil seal can be replaced. In addition, it is also necessary to check whether the reducer and lubricating oil meet the requirements, whether the oil level is too high, and whether the exhaust hole is smooth. If no other abnormalities are found, the lubricating oil can be replaced normally. The temperature of the motor and reducer is too high, which may be caused by the inflexible rotation of the scraper mechanism or oil leakage. You can check according to the above operations. If there is a problem with the internal structure of the motor or reducer, you can ask professional technicians to repair it.

3. Failure of the flotation machine tank

The failure of the flotation machine tank body is mainly due to air leakage, which generally occurs in the equipment installation stage. Different degrees of water seepage and water leakage may occur at the position of the anchor, and some may appear at the individual welds of the channel bottom channel. Water seepage and leakage have no effect on the use of the equipment, but have a greater impact on the environment.

Troubleshooting and troubleshooting:

The surface connection of the tank body must ensure that the rubber skin is complete and free of deformation, and the flange surface is filled with sealant to seal, strengthen the seal, and pre-tighten the bolts after the joint surface is well connected. If it is found that the gap of the connected tank body leaks, first check whether the bolts are loose and whether the rubber is damaged. Try loosening the preload bolts, refill the sealant if the bolts and rubber or maintenance interval, and then preload the bolts. The loose anchor may be caused by improper operation. During installation, the bolts should be loosened, and the welding seam of the side plate and the bottom rib plate connecting the foundation and the flange should be cut open, and the pre-tightening bolts on the joint surface should be processed according to the above operation, and then welded. Anchor plate. If the location and cause of the leak cannot be determined, or if the operation effect is not good, you can try to fill the sealant around the surface flow plate of the flotation machine, or solve the leakage problem by continuously welding the perimeter of the flow opening on the joint surface.

4. Flotation machine gate failure

The structure of the gate is relatively simple, located at the tail of the flotation machine, and is used to adjust the liquid level in the tank. The installation, debugging and use frequency are high, and the handwheel is prone to be damaged, the improvement is blocked, and the water running failure occurs.

Troubleshooting and troubleshooting:

First of all, under the condition that the screw is well lubricated and there is no rubber damage, pay attention to the pre-tightening degree of the special screw. The rubber is glued to the back of the gate. It is necessary to ensure that the rubber is firmly bonded and the surface is flat. Install the gate when it is fully dry. The special screws are designed according to the selection and structural dimensions. After pre-tightening, the natural pre-tightening force between the gate and the U-shaped plate of the tank body should meet the design requirements, and no adjustment should be made unless there are special circumstances, otherwise the pre-tightening is too loose or excessive. Tightening may lead to running water, and the lifting is not smooth.
